A man loves a woman he has never seen. This woman, in turn, loves a man who only pretends to be a man and is otherwise a woman. This woman loves the former man, who believes she is a man. Such is the love chaos unfolding in Illyria, a wondrous place by the sea, populated by self-centred and foolish people. But anyone who thinks that love seeks its counterpart is mistaken. Love's centre is usually the self. Love? Self-redemption and a remedy for bruised souls. But there is one person who is different, who awakens hearts and expands identities.
Together with the Orchester im Treppenhaus, Anne Lenk and her ensemble explore the possibilities of love in a world that seems to have lost all sense of it.

Premiere 19. September 2025, Thalia Theater
